Ground Plane Object Tracking under Egomotion
نویسنده
چکیده
An adaptive approach to moving object recognition in image sequences from a single low{cost camera under egomotion is proposed. The object motion is restricted by ground plane trajectories. Quantitative and qualitative results of vehicle tracking in trac scenes are presented. It is demonstrated that acceptable results with a single low cost camera can be achieved for those objects, which are projected to image regions not smaller than 10x12 pixel 2 .

Random features vs Harris Corners in Real-Time Visual Egomotion Estimation
We compare Randomly Selected (RanSel) features with Harris Corners within a visual egomotion estimation framework. Harris corners have been extensivelly used in visual egomotion estimation systems due to a good tracking stability. However, to compute these features the whole image has to be processed. Instead, we propose the use of randomly selected points which are virtually costless to obtain...
متن کاملLearning Surveillance Tracking Models for the Self-Calibrated Ground Plane
Tracking strategies usually employ motion and appearance models to locate observations of the tracked object in successive frames. The subsequent model update procedure renders the approach highly sensitive to the inevitable observation and occlusion noise processes. In this work, two robust mechanisms are proposed which rely on knowledge about the ground plane. First a highly constrained bound...
متن کاملStiffness control of a legged robot equipped with a serial manipulator in stance phase
The ability to perform different tasks by a serial manipulator mounted on legged robots, increases the capabilities of the robot. The position/force control problem of such a robot in the stance phase with point contacts on the ground is investigated here. A target plane with known stiffness is specified in the workspace. Active joints of the legs and serial manipulator are used to exert the de...
متن کاملTracking Objects from Multiple Stationary and Moving Cameras
This paper presents a novel approach for multi-views tracking of moving objects observed by multiple, stationary or moving cameras. Video streams from stationary cameras are registered using ground plane homography obtained from known 3D ground plane information. In the more general case of heterogeneous cameras (a combination of stationary and Pan-Tilt-Zoom cameras), video streams are register...
متن کاملMonocular Egomotion Estimation based on Image Matching
In this paper, we propose a novel method for computing the egomotion of a monocular camera mounted on a vehicle based on the matching of distant regions in consecutive frames. Our approach takes advantage of the fact that the image projection of a plane can provide information about the camera motion. Instead of tracking points between frames, we track distant regions in the scene because they ...
